I have fought a good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day; and not only to me only, but also unto all them also that love His appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8. Sleep on beloved, sleep and take thy rest
Lay down thy head upon they Savior’s breast We love thee well, but Jesus loves thee best -
Goodnight! Goodnight! Goodnight
Donna Marie “Rita” Hill was born on October 26, 1961, in Fort Valley, Georgia to the parents of the late Eddie Hill and Mattie Pearl (Schofield) Hill. She was the youngest of three children. Rita grew up in Fort Valley, Georgia, and attended the public school system of Peach County. Early in life she gave her life to Christ and became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She was devoted to her family and friends and cherished her three sons and grandchildren. Her passion was to love on people, and she enjoyed working with children. Her legs were rarely still as you could always find her cleaning, cooking, and helping out wherever she was needed. Spending time with her family was one of the things that she enjoyed doing the most. She also shared her love with everyone through her cooking; foods such as shepard's pie, homemade macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, and everyone's favorite tallerine.
For many years, Rita worked at the Curtis Baptist School in Augusta, Georgia. This job suited her servant’s heart and teaching soul. She use to always tell her sons, “Do what’s right, do what’s good, be kind, and always help others. And if you take it one step further, please do it for people older and younger.”
On Friday, July 24, 2020, Rita was called by her heavenly father from labor to reward. Preceding her in death were her loving father, Eddie Hill and loving sister, Angela “Duke” Hill.
