Every Life Has A Story...

Mr. Fletcher Lyons was born February 6, 1942, in Crawford County, Georgia, to the parents Ben Lyons, Sr. and Emma Cook.  Fletcher graduated from Crawford County High School in 1960.

At a young age, Fletcher joined Cool Spring Baptist Church.  During his early adolescence, his passage led him to Pompano Beach, Florida, and was gainfully employed at Captain Place Restaurant for several years. He later relocated to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where he was employed with Roadway Trucking Company for numerous years.  After years of dedicated services with Roadway, he soon returned to Fort Valley, Georgia.  After returning back to the area he loves, he started a new career at Fort Valley State University.  His dedication and commitment led him to the position of Landscape Supervisors,25 years of services, and retirement.  Soon after his retirement, he continued his passion for landscaping and started his own successful landscape business.  One of his beloved hobbies, was golfing.  His love for golf, began during his early life, while working as a caddy. Over the years, his golf skill evolved, and his scoring average was consistently in the ’80s, which is very good for a recreational golfer.
