Mrs. Ozie Banks "Whoot", as she was affectionately called was the eldest child of Mrs. Lillie Mae Snead and the late Mr. Sylvanus Snead, born May 25, 1949. in Fort Valley, Georgia.
Ozie spent her adult life, 35 years, in Fort Myers, Florida returning in 2011 after 19 years of dedicated service from the Lee County School Board. She realized then that it was time to return home to her hometown of Fort Valley, Georgia, to be with her beloved mother and sisters.
Ozie was preceded in death by her father, Sylvanus Snead; sisters, Tarita Bennett and Marsha Bennett; brothers, Walter (Pete) Snead and Johnny McCoy.
She leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Lillie M. Snead; three children: Ernest (Tracy) Banks, Chicago, IL, Shaton Banks, Fort Valley, GA. and Hollis (Chris) Jackson, Fort Myers, FL. Six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters: Elaine (Ronnie) Snead, Brenda (Ernest) Battle and a very devoted sister Lillian Snead, all of Fort Valley, GA.; two brothers: Willie (Betty) Snead, Homestead, FL. and Larry Perry of Warner Robins, GA. Two aunts: Clara Rich, Wildwood, FL. and Betty Lowe, Fort Valley, GA.; mother-in-law, Liza Banks; three sisters-in-law: Mary Leary, Earnestine Harris and Christine Johnson; brother-in-law, Leon (Joyce) Banks; three devoted friends: Florine Perry, Bernice Hillsman and Tara Johnson. A devoted cousin, Freddie M. Harris; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Osa Snead Banks will be held on Friday, March 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, Fort Valley, GA.
