Emma Louise Girdner was born on April 19, 1938 to the late Jerry Girdner and Daisy Tukes Girdner. She was the youngest of three children.
She was educated in the public schools of Peach County. Emma will be remembered for her caring heart, quiet and pleasant personality. "Granny" as she was affectionately called by her 6 children, 12 grand-children and 16 great-grandchildren was deeply loved and respected by her family and friends.
Emma was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Daphane Lowe; her sister, Annie Bell Gardner, her brother John Girdner and her sister-in-law Bertha Girdner.
Left to cherish her many wonderful memories are her five children, Brenda (Paul) Perry, Willie J. Gardner, Gina (Rodney) Connors, Walter E. Girdner, and Jerry A. Girdner. Twelve grandchildren, three raised by her, Rhonda Girdner, Deundrea Postell and Christian E. Girdner. Other grandchildren, Shapel Girdner, Paul Perry, Jr., Keyosha (Steven) McDonald, Shalandria Robinson, Michael Robinson, Jr., Julian Robinson. Jeremy Lofton, Breanna Girdner and Jaylon Girdner; Sixteen great-grandchildren; Three nieces, Diane G. Miller, Valerie Girdner and Kim (Willis) Weaver. Two nephews, Randy Girdner and Kelvin Girdner. Special great-niece Cierra Miller and cousin Annell Dennis. Devoted friends Rosa Lee Ivery, Willie Mae Starling, and Lucy Owens. Many other relatives and friends.
Fort Valley- Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Girdner will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 in the C J Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Willowlake Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Girdner passed away on July 5, 2019 while at her residence.
