Mr. Tommie Lee Edwards, Jr. was born April 24, 1959 to the parentage of Mr. Tommie and Mrs. Bertha Howard Edwards in Peach County, Georgia.
He was educated in the Peach County Public School a 1977 graduate of Peach County High School. Upon completion of high school, Tommie enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in the Operation Desert Shield/Storm War. Tommie was awarded many accolades including the National Defense Service Medal and the Sharpshooter Marksmanship Badge Rifle, M-16 and many more; after 21 years of service to his Country he retired.
Tommie and Anna made a vow to God on September 15, 1978 as they were united in Holy Matrimony. Two children were born to this union. Mr. and Mrs. Tommie Lee Edwards, Jr enjoyed 39 years of marriage bliss. Time shared will forever be dear.
Tommie loved spending time with his family and friends. He also loved landscaping; beautified his yard gave him much pleasure. His outgoing personality will definitely be missed; but forever cherished. The joy of his life was spending time with his grandchildren. He was known as the go to person in the family; Tommie always had time and advice to share- he would tell you the truth, rather you wanted to hear it or not.
He devoted 25 years at Dan Rivers formerly Bibb Company, Fort Valley in Management until the closing of the plant in 2003. Tommie was employed at Graphic Packing Company until his untimely demise.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie Lee Edwards, Sr. and Bertha Howard Edwards.
On Friday, May 4, 2018, God in His own omnipotent power spoke peace to our beloved as he journey to the Promised Land for eternal life.
The Life of Tommie will continue in the life of: his loving wife, Anna; two sons: Kimbro (Keisha) Edwards, Chesapeake, VA and Grier Edwards, Fort Valley, GA; two grandsons: Caleb and Joshua both of Virginia; one brother, Kenneth (Beveles) Edwards, Woodbury, VA; four sisters: Bernice Golphin, Atlanta, GA, Jeanette Madry-Boyer, Macon, GA, Dianne Thomas, Warner Robins, GA and Lucrista Edwards, Fort Valley, GA; one uncle; three aunts; his mother-in-law, Laura Grier, Georgetown, GA; five sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
