A Death has Occurred or is Near
Mr. Noah Respress was born on December 29, 1942 in Crawford County to the late Mr. Joe Brown Respress and Mrs. Minnie Respress. He attended the local public schools in Crawford County and later transferred to H.A. Hunt High school in Fort Valley, Georgia. Desiring to serve his country and possessing a desire to see other parts of the world, he enlisted in the United States Army. While serving in the army, he endeavored in boxing and immediately was drawn into the sport. He held onto his dream of someday becoming a professional boxer.
After his short stint in the army, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia and joined the Army Reserves and took a fulltime job with the United States Post Office as a mail clerk. He remained in this position until he retired. In addition to working at the post office, he simultaneously worked as a security guard at Turner Field. He got a chance to experience a lot of games and would often be heard talking about the Atlanta Braves.
On Monday, December 10, 2018, Mr. Respress made his transition and went on to be with his Saviour while as a patient with the Heart of Georgia Hospice.
Mr. Respress was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Joe Brown Respress and Mrs. Minnie Respress, and five siblings, Lillie Daniel, Tom Respress, Rev. J.W. Respress, Roosevelt Respress, and Annie Lee McGhee.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: two loving sisters, Ms. Letha Jackson and. Ms. Johnnie McCrary, both of Fort Valley, Georgia, a host of nieces and nephews, a close friend, Mr. John Bennett, Fort Valley, Georgia, and many sorrowing friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Respress will be on Thursday, December 13, 3018 in the sanctuary of Cool Springs Baptist Church in Fort Valley with the Rev. Morris Hillsman, Officiating. Burial will follow in Willowlake Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
