Larry Augustus, known to many as “Soldier” was born on November 19, 1952 to the parentage of the late James Arthur and Rosie Mae Augustus in Fort Valley Georgia. He was raised in the city of Fort Valley Georgia, where he received his education from the Peach County Public School system.
During his school years, Larry took an interest in art and was very good at crafting things with his hands. He also enjoyed cooking and doing yard work, by doing these he developed very strong work ethics. As time went on, he began to do seasonal work and a construction work. This gave him the opportunity to travel to many different states, until he decided to make York, Pennsylvania his new home. He resided there for many years. Then finally in 2011, Larry returned home to reconnect with all the loved ones he’d missed.
To know “Soldier” was to love him, for he was a fun, loving, protective, and caring person. He always seemed to be the life of the party, because he knew how to make people laugh, dance and feel welcomed. Larry never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Arthur and Rosie Mae Augustus.
On Friday August 2, 2019 Larry found eternal rest while at Houston Medical Center. He will be truly missed.
