A Death has Occurred or is Near
Lula Mae Brown,99, of Fort Valley, Georgia passed on Saturday. August 4, 2018 surrounded by love ones. A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11 am, St. James CME Church, Marshallville, GA.
Lula Mae,the second oldest of eleven children born to Mr. Selester and Mrs. Birder McNeal Blue in Macon County, Georgia. She was educated in Macon County School System. She was a member of Mathis Chapel Baptist Church, Perry, GA for more than eighty years where she served as the Mother of the Church and on the Ushers Board in her earlier years. Lula Mae was a mother with many talents and she didn't mind sharing them with her family. She would rise early in the morning and tend to the welfare of her children; the outside was her way of enjoying the beauty of nature and it was certainly presence in her award winning gardens. Lula Mae' daily devotion consisted of spending time in prayer on her knees; reading her bible, the Daily Word and Word Search as well as watching Steve Harvey from one channel to the next.
At the closed of the day; the Matriarch of our family enjoyed 99 years, 1 month and 21 days for this we are thankful and can surely say " SHE LIVED TIL THE END"
She leaves to continue her legacy: 8 children and their spouses: Ruby Brown Joseph, Fort Valley, GA, Leroy (Elouise) Brown, Sr, Orlando, FL, Lillie Fleming, Brooklyn NY, Thomas (Andrea) Brown Sr, Marshallville, GA, Birder (Ben) Britton, Rochester, NY, Emma Scott, Rochester, NY, JB Brown, Fort Valley, GA and Alice Logan (Gregory), San Antonio, TX; 33 grandchildren; a host of great and great-great grandchildren; 4 siblings: Essie B. Walker, Atlanta, GA, John E. (Artisher) Blue, Maitland, FL, Birder M. (Columbus) Wright, Plant City, FL and Polly (Ben) Martin, Queens, NY; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
